WELCOME TO CULLULLERAINE MUSIC FESTIVAL 2019
Welcome all to Cullulleraine Music Festival 2019 and thank you for making the effort to join us here and support this event now in its 5th year.
What better way to enjoy a festival than in this unique location that is Lake Cullulleraine, the place I spent many weekend hours as a child with my parents, playing cricket, tennis, football, or just escaping the heat of summer by swimming in the lake, some lasting memories of my childhood.
A generation later camping here with my own wife and children for school holidays with friends, making new friends, and creating great memories amongst our extended group.
This festival is a lifelong journey for me and with the event here at the Lake Cullulleraine each year I get to make and share some lasting memories with friends old and new, musical or not and to share them with you our guests and visitors to this special place which is Cullulleraine.
I would like to thank all of the members of our small committee who share a vision for this event and work all year to get this event up and running, not an easy task in a slightly remote location and over three days. We are very lucky with the amazing support of our sponsors and volunteers and I thank them for their vital assistance.
I also wish to thank all of the amazing artists and musicians who underpin this awesome event with their incredible individual and collective talent, a gift to us all. Many of the performers are people I have met over the many years attending music festivals, so I feel events like this little festival are crucial to the health and wellbeing of the real Australian music industry and participants. Enjoy the festival.
Chris Rogers, Festival founder & Artistic Director
A WORD FROM OUR CHAIR
I am delighted, on behalf of our great committee to thank and welcome you to the 2019 Cullulleraine Music Festival. With sunny days forecast, this Festival is set to be a delight with a program aimed at everyone.
Last year Musical Artistic Director Chris Rogers delivered a great lineup, the bands were all brilliant and the rich mix of other activities created a fabulous, astonishing Festival, no matter what mother nature determined to throw at us!
This year we’ve mixed the iconic, Mark Seymour, Broderick Smith, Bushfire with the marvellous Sal Kimber and the Rollin’ Wheel and a three-day program of live music, the amazing Pitts Family Circus with drumming, singing and artistic workshops to provide an exciting community centred Festival. Our committee, a team with many talents, has worked quite tirelessly to organise and deliver this mix of music, activity, food and culture and we thank them greatly.
Immerse yourselves with a range of foods, drinks and wares. Relax and take it all in, be glass free, green with your goods and smoke free within our precinct.
We thank the Mildura Rural City Council and all our Sponsors. They have allowed us to shape this event, here at Lake Cullulleraine within the wonderful Lake Cullulleraine Holiday Park.
We hope you enjoy this Festival and above all we hope you have the pleasure of being here, sharing culture, sharing country, sharing…
I acknowledge the First Peoples of the Millewa Mallee, the Ngintait, Nyeri Nyeri, Werigia & Latjie Latjie, on whose lands we gather and their across river neighbours the Maraura and Barkindji; we acknowledge their Elders past and present and celebrate the heritage of a land connected to people now and for millennia.
