Jimmy Dalton

Jimmy Dalton was born in Waterford Ireland (he won’t say when) and made the journey to Australia in 1980. Jimmy is a self- taught Irish Trad player with a fierce passion for the music and a head full of tunes. His main instruments are tenor banjo, mandolin and cittern all of which are Australian made.
Jimmy spent many years in and around Mildura and played for many years with the local bush band “The Dalton Brothers”. Moving away from Mildura Jimmy played with Scottish group Loch Ard some years back and currently enjoys playing in Irish Trad sessions.
Jimmy will be hosting a session or two over the weekend with long-time friend Michael Oates (The Cauldron) and anyone else who would like to join them. The sessions will be held in the hall at the Bushman’s rest so bring an instrument and keep an eye on the website for program times.
